Future Plans

I feel in the last nine and a half years I have built and taken my service as far as I could alone. It was hard to develop larger ideas when I had a client base of a potential 53,000 people as well as trying to carry out technical work and committees. Recently though I was given a colleague to work with, who will free me up to develop other aspects of the service that would otherwise not have been possible. I find this very exciting.

Ideas I have are:

  • Working with Ability and Camden Services to develop a work experience project at UCL and possibly find funding for a bigger project with our disabled students and their service users.
  • Obtain funding to run regular student projects to give disabled students some work experience and something to put on their CV
  • Develop my programming skills so that when I test websites and systems I can advise more on how to modify the language.
  • Get more involved in new spaces that are developed such as the new campus at Stratford and the projects that move to agile working.
  • Secure a space to create a soft room – this is more of a daydream but who knows?
